Trained to help. Lived it too.

Most people who teach about grief have studied it. I have studied it and lived it.

Certified grief educator & coach

Teaching has always been part of who I am. I'm a licensed teacher with my master's in educational technology. Losing Harper led me to become a certified grief educator through David Kessler, one of the most respected voices on grief today. I put my whole heart and soul into every workbook, post and group.

Cancer family and parent of an angel daughter

I walked beside my daughter Harper through three years of cancer treatment. It was so hard on our whole family. We are still struggling and figuring it out, one day at a time. I have lived both kinds of grief: watching someone you love go through cancer, then losing her on October 31, 2025. I know the 2 a.m. kind of grief because I live it too.

Here for the whole family

I created The Ugly Cry Club. I lead the Mommas Group and helped start the Sibling Group. The workbooks grew out of our conversations. After losing Harper, I couldn't find anything that didn't rush me, fix me or tell me how to feel. So I made 20+ gentle workbooks and guides: for moms, dads, siblings, grandparents and little ones, for families going through cancer treatment and for the people who want to help. Plus 7 keepsake gifts and 4 products you can personalize.

Why I do this

This is my passion. It helps me heal too.

Helping other families through the hardest days of their lives is how I carry my own grief. Every mom who leaves the Ugly Cry Club a little lighter, every workbook that lands in the right hands and every hard question I get to answer gives my heart somewhere to put its love.

I didn't choose this path. But walking it next to you is the most meaningful work I've ever done. It is part of my own healing.

With love, Niki
